Gassano is a perched village, typical of the Maritime Alps and this northern part of Tuscany. Located south of the Aulla - Fivizzano road, access is not difficult and approaching from the north the nature of the village is less apparent. The village, with its narrow twisting lanes on different levels and interlinking arched passages, is accessed from either end and our properties are at the western end of the village.

We have three units providing accommodation for 2, 4 or 6 guests. Casetta Sissi is very old and built over four floors and arched over the street. The lowest floor has a separate entrance leading to a first floor self contained studio (sleeps 2) with fully sprung sofa bed, large living area, kitchenette and separate shower room.

Casetta Sissi Sopra (the main house sleeps 6), is approached from a different street and is mainly arranged over two floors with three bedrooms, (two double and one with full size bunk beds), bathroom, shower room, kitchen,  top floor sitting room and south facing roof terrace with stunning views over the valley to Mount Pisanino. 

Casa Fina (sleeps 4) directly adjoins Casetta Sissi and is built over two floors with two bedrooms, (one double and one twin), bathroom, L shaped kitchen/living room and large south facing roof terrace with similar views as Casetta Sissi.   

This is a working village with bakers, butchers, general stores and post office. There is of course the obligatory bar, full of old and young. We can offer accommodation for parties from two to eight people, in these traditional village homes. The nature of the properties does preclude their use by the infirm and they are not really suitable for very young children. We do not take pets.

Subject to availability the studio can be combined with the  Casetta Sissi Sopra at the standard rates. Sufficient additional crockery and seating is provided in the main houses so that the studio can serve purely as additional bedroom accommodation. Additionally Casa Fina could be combined with Casetta Sissi Sopra and studio to provide accommodation for ten. 

The houses and studio are available all year round at appropriate rents. All the properties have gas hob, electric oven, gas fired hot water and central heating: (heating supplement payable in winter). Pillows, duvets and/or blankets are provided and a weekly linen service to include bedding, towels and tea-cloths. Please bring your own beach towels!

All three units have been refurbished with new kitchens, some new bathrooms and central heating and all have been refurnished within the last twelve months.
